Gorr the God Butcher Build & Starter Guide (Season 10)
How to play Gorr the God Butcher in Marvel Rivals Season 10: kit from his official hero page, combos, Venom and Hela Team-Ups, and ranked tips.
Checked October 2, 2026. Gorr the God Butcher arrived with Season 10 Butcher’s Blasphemy in the Version 20260911 notes, and his kit is documented on his official hero page. Everything on this page is labeled by source: kit facts and stats come from those official pages, and play advice is our own read.
Who Gorr Is in Season 10
Gorr the God Butcher is the Season 10 headline hero — the season’s only new hero — added when Butcher’s Blasphemy launched on Friday, September 11, 2026 (the update began at 09:00 UTC with about two hours of maintenance). He is a Duelist, listed as one on his official hero page (the season announcement post itself lists him under “New Villain” without printing the role).
His design splits into three pillars, documented on the official hero page:
- Symbiote traversal and summons — Necro-Power fires a symbiote mass that slows enemies and teleports/spawns Berserkers, and his passive (Berserker Swarm) converts berserker damage into his own bonus health while kills spawn more berserkers.
- Black Berserkers — his summon loop: Black Berserker throws a mass that spawns a shooter minion, and Shadow Harvest warps him to a berserker, sacrifices it for bonus health and an explosion, and unlocks Shadow Scythe.
- The Necrosword ult — Twilight of the Gods transforms All-Black the Necrosword into the Annihilablade inside a moving Necroverse that instantly spawns a Black Berserker next to every enemy caught in it.
Gorr’s Kit, Ability by Ability
| Ability | What it does | Source |
|---|---|---|
| All-Black (primary) | Up to a four-strike melee sword combo at relatively long melee range — 40 damage on the 1st/3rd hits, 60 on the 2nd/4th, per the official page | Official hero page |
| Necro-Power | Fires a symbiote mass that slows enemies and teleports/spawns Berserkers that launch enemies | Official hero page |
| Shadow Harvest | Warp to a berserker, sacrifice it for bonus health (50% of its remaining health, up to 50) and an explosion; unlocks Shadow Scythe | Official hero page |
| Black Berserker | Throws a mass that spawns a shooter minion | Official hero page |
| Living Abyss | Invincible forward surge that frenzies Berserkers and creates a damaging Necroverse | Official hero page |
| Berserker Swarm (passive) | Berserker damage grants Gorr bonus health (100%, up to 50; shares the cap with Shadow Harvest); defeating an enemy instantly spawns a Black Berserker at their location | Official hero page |
| Twilight of the Gods (ultimate) | Transforms All-Black into the Annihilablade inside a moving Necroverse that instantly spawns a Black Berserker next to every enemy caught inside; berserkers in the field will not expire and stay frenzied | Official hero page |
| Team-Up: Ragnarök (with Hela) | Scythe sweeping strike that damages and grounds enemies; with Hela, the range expands and Gorr and allies gain bonus health | Official hero page |
| Team-Up: Hive Mind (with Venom) | Fire a piercing Symbiote Claw that pulls enemies back; with Venom, berserkers gain +33% damage and a 30% slow on hit | Official hero page |
Stat block, straight from the official hero page: 175 base health plus a 175 Regenerative Shield (350 total effective). That is a Duelist-sized health pool with a recovery mechanic that needs downtime — the same Regenerative Shield language the official patch notes use across the Season 9/10 health reworks.
How to Play Him: Our Starter Build
This section is our read, built from the officially documented kit — treat it as a starting plan, not a solved verdict.
- Open from a hidden angle, never the front door. Gorr’s traversal and Necro-Power spawns only pay off if you arrive where the enemy is not looking. Take the flank route on the way to every fight, not just the first.
- Melee in short bursts, not long commitments. His sword combo is his damage source, but his health pool does not support standing in a brawl. Strike two or three hits, then disengage while your berserkers keep dealing damage — the Berserker Swarm passive converts their damage into bonus health (up to 50, a cap shared with Shadow Harvest), which is overhealth, not healing: it does not survive the next poke war the way a heal would.
- Treat kills and berserkers as a resource loop. Every defeat instantly spawns a Black Berserker at the victim’s location, and every point of berserker damage becomes your bonus health. In a staggered fight, clean up the isolated low-health target first — a second summon snowballs the next exchange.
- Use Living Abyss as your escape hatch and the ult as your swarm-starter. Living Abyss is an invincible forward surge, so it is both an engage and a bail-out. Twilight of the Gods instantly summons a Black Berserker next to every enemy caught in the opening Necroverse — you do not need a pre-built swarm to make it pay, but catching grouped enemies does multiply it (our read on the official description).
- Respect the Season 10 Strategist economy. The official Version 20260911 balance post cut Strategist healing-to-energy conversion from 70% to 65% and damage-to-energy from 55% to 50%, so enemy healing ultimates charge slower than Season 9 habit suggests. That is more room for a dive Duelist to force an early support cooldown — our read, the numbers themselves are official.
Team Comps for Gorr
- With Venom (Hive Mind): the piercing Symbiote Claw pull (plus the +33% berserker damage and 30% slow once Venom boosts it, per the official hero page) gives the pair a shared engage. Our read: this is the most natural Gorr core — Venom initiates, Gorr converts.
- With Hela (Ragnarök): long-range pressure covering Gorr’s approach lanes, plus the scythe strike as a grounded-target brawl tool once Hela expands its range and adds bonus health.
- Your Strategist slot: Jeff and Loki both received official Version 20260911 buffs (Jeff’s Joyful Splash healing 130/s to 140/s; Loki’s Mystical Missile healing 10 to 15), which makes either a strong, current-patch pick alongside a dive core.
Who Beats Gorr
Our read, based on the kit shape: sustained ranged poke that punishes his walk-in before Necro-Power comes up, grouped crowd control that interrupts the melee combo, and teams that refuse to stagger (berserkers feed on separated targets, and the ult’s auto-summon rewards catching grouped enemies for Gorr — so a clumped enemy comp cuts both ways). If the enemy comp stays clumped behind a poke line with peel saved for the surge, Gorr has to work for every angle.
FAQ

who pairs well with gorr
Venom (Hive Mind Team-Up: piercing Symbiote Claw pull, +33% berserker damage with Venom’s boost) and Hela (Ragnarök Team-Up: grounded-target scythe strike, expanded range and bonus health with Hela’s boost) are his official Team-Up partners. Pair the core with a current-patch Strategist such as Jeff or Loki, both buffed in the official Season 10 balance post.
