Marvel Rivals Season 10.5 mid-season meta check: what changed since October 9

What officially changed after October 15, where the mid-season meta debate stands on October 25, and what the numbers cannot prove.

Every page cited below was last checked on October 25, 2026; where a source carries its own update date, that date is noted instead. Nothing after October 25 is reflected.

The official record since October 15

One new general update and three announcements followed the October 15 update. The general update is Version 20261022, published October 21 and applied October 22 at 09:00 UTC with no server downtime. The official balance post index still lists Version 20261009 as the newest balance record. Hero tuning has not changed since October 9; everything after that date is content, events and fixes, and any “the balance shifted this week” claim traces to opinion, not a new balance post.

Version 20261022 opens the second Path to Doomsday phase, Avengers: Endgame, running October 22 at 09:00 UTC to November 26 at 09:00 UTC. The patch notes describe Thanos breaching the timeline, list three two-hour sessions on October 24 (01:00, 10:00 and 18:00 UTC) and name the free reward: Captain America’s The Winter Soldier costume. The notes do not state a player count or a PvE label; community references such as the marvelrivals.gg Endgame guide (updated October 25) describe a 50-player cooperative boss fight and extend the session list to October 31, November 7 and November 14. Treat those details as community-sourced until the in-game panel confirms them. The season timeline page carries the full dated table.

The same patch fixed named bugs — Black Cat’s wall portals after Fortune’s Favor, abnormal directional shifting during Black Widow’s Widow’s Bite Slam, Hawkeye’s empty-hands arrow visual — and refreshed the Times Square activities: watching the Endgame screening continuously for two minutes unlocks a Gallery Card, and photo-wall group photos pay 100 Units. Store bundles (Black Cat’s Fatal Weaver, Elsa Bloodstone’s Gothic Huntress, Jeff’s Sharknos and two emote combos) run from October 23 at 02:00 UTC to November 20 at 02:00 UTC.

Policy announcements changed rules of conduct, not balance

Three announcements in the window affect accounts rather than heroes. The October 15 mods notice bans memory-injection mods, names two .asi files to delete, and un-banned the accounts suspended in the preceding two days without permitting mod use. The October 16 speech moderation notice escalates penalties for chat violations and links a dedicated Moderation Policy page. The October 20 Twitch event post ran a viewer-vs-Thanos mini-game across participating channels from October 24, 00:00 UTC to October 26, 06:59 UTC (times the publisher stated in PDT) with gifted subs and in-game Units at stake. FRVR’s October 17 report recorded the community backlash around the suspension wave and its reversal; cosmetic mods remain use-at-your-own-risk.

Where the mid-season debate stands

Three kinds of sources are tracking “the meta” right now, and they measure different things.

Tracker statistics: CounterWatch’s tier list, refreshed daily, showed these all-rank win rates on October 25 — Peni Parker 58.0%, Ultron 57.3%, Storm 56.4%, Mantis 55.6%, Gorr and Magik 54.9%, Rocket Raccoon 54.0%. The method page states the sample (opted-in desktop-app matches), the Bayesian shrinkage adjustment and the 53% S-tier threshold. It is community telemetry: not an official statistic, and not rank-specific.

Written tier lists disagree with each other. KeenGamer’s October 12 list for Diamond+ keeps The Hood at number one and drops Gorr from first to fifth after the October 9 nerfs. Mobalytics’ tier list, modified October 21, maintains two boards: its Grandmaster-and-above S+ row lists Devil Dinosaur, Elsa Bloodstone, Psylocke, Gambit, Mantis and Loki, while its below-Diamond S+ row is led by The Punisher, The Thing and Cloak & Dagger. EpicCarry’s October 11 breakdown separates a patch-based tier (Hulk, Hawkeye, Phoenix after their buffs) from its statistics tier (Devil Dinosaur, Magik, Hulk, Peni Parker, Rocket Raccoon, Gorr) and notes Hulk is the only hero on both.

Creator videos argue the interpretation. NugnugTV’s October 11 tier list claims long-range poke compositions have taken over; Kingsman265 (October 20) and Lyte (October 22 UTC) published full-roster lists eleven and thirteen days after the patch; Coach_Mills (October 18) splits best and worst picks by rank bracket. The creator video roundup summarizes what each video covers with links.

Our read

  • The durable facts remain the October 9 balance values. No balance post has followed them, so two weeks of “meta moved” discussion is the player base digesting one patch, plus a new event mode that does not share a roster with Competitive.
  • Where independent sources overlap, the case is real: Peni Parker, Mantis and Devil Dinosaur each appear in the tracker’s top ten and in at least one editorial S+ row. Where they conflict — Storm topping all-rank statistics while absent from the S+ rows captured here, or The Hood first on one list and unranked in that tier elsewhere — rank bracket and playstyle explain more than any single verdict does.
  • A tracker counting opted-in app users and a coach list encoding pro-scene habits are both opinions with numbers attached. Neither predicts your next match. Record what actually happens to the heroes you play on the personal tier board, and check hero-specific conditions in the lineup worksheet before changing a six-player plan.
